Get Scrooged is a robust Irish Red Ale that elevates the traditional base with a bold, festive intensity. The visual profile is defined by deep ruby hues derived from a combination of Munich and specialty red malts, supporting a complex aromatic profile. Vibrant layers of citrus and tropical fruit from Citra and Mosaic hops intertwine with the resinous pine of Chinook, creating a sharp contrast against a backdrop of rich toffee and toasted biscuit. At 8% ABV, the palate is substantial, offering a sweet-caramel start that transitions into a firm hop bitterness and a characteristically dry, slightly roasted finish.
Appearance. Medium reddish-copper to deep ruby color (14–18 SRM). Clear with a dense, off-white to light tan head that shows good persistence and lacing.
Aroma. Moderate to high intensity. Strong notes of grapefruit, passionfruit, and pine from Citra and Mosaic hops. The malt base provides a rich foundation of toasted bread, Munich-style maltiness, and light toffee. Low fermentation esters.
Taste. Initial impression is malty sweetness featuring caramel and biscuit. This is quickly balanced by high hop flavors of citrus zest and earthy resin from Chinook. Bitterness is firm and higher than standard for the style, leading to a clean, medium-dry finish with a subtle hint of roasted grain.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture. Moderate carbonation. A noticeable but well-integrated alcohol warmth reflects the 8% ABV. No astringency.
