Falkon Šlágr
A bright and sessionable take on a Czech Premium Pale Lager, Falkon Šlágr showcases the classic interplay of soft Pilsner malt and a nuanced hop trio. The nose is greeted by the hallmark spice and floral elegance of Saaz and Saaz Shine, complemented by the subtle herbal and fruity undertones of Sladek hops. Fermented clean with W34/70 yeast, the palate offers a rich, bready malt foundation that belies its 4% ABV. A firm but rounded bitterness provides structure, leading to a crisp, lingering finish. It embodies the traditional "Desítka" spirit with a refined, refreshing complexity and exceptional drinkability.
Appearance. Medium yellow to light gold (4 SRM). Brilliant clarity with a dense, long-lasting, creamy white head that provides excellent lacing.
Aroma. Moderate to high intensity. Distinctive spicy, floral, and slightly herbal hop bouquet from the Saaz and Saaz Shine. The malt character is bready-rich and clean. Fermentation is very clean with no fruity esters, though a trace of diacetyl is acceptable for the style.
Taste. Initial rich, bready Pilsner malt sweetness is quickly balanced by a pronounced yet soft and rounded bitterness. Hop flavors are medium-high, featuring the spicy and earthy notes of Saaz alongside the mild fruitiness of Sladek. The finish is long and clean, balanced between bready malt and hop character.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a soft, rounded texture from the local water profile. Moderate carbonation. Crisp and refreshing without any alcohol warmth.
