Our expression of the wide range of quality malts grown here in Washington. Leila is a bright saison brewed with equal parts Baronesse Pilsner malt from Joseph’s Grainery Colfax, WA and malted Purple Egyptian barley from Palouse Heritage inEndicot, WA and all malted by LINC Malts of Spokane. Purple Egyptian barley is a black six-row hulless barley and imparts a soft and round mouthfeel but contributes minimal color. This heritage barley originated in the Middle East and spread northward to the arid regions northeast of the Caspian Sea centuries ago. Hopped with Goldings and Sterling from Crosby Hops.
Fermented with our house blend of wild and feral yeasts and bacterias, Leila is a dry saison with notes of Granny Smith apple, melon and pear.
