Fair Isle Brewing Landbier

Lager 3.8 º
This Landbier presents a rustic, sessionable take on the American Lager style, characterized by a lean but flavorful grain bill. The inclusion of Spelt provides a delicate, nutty depth and a slightly earthy complexity to the otherwise neutral, sweet-grainy base. Its aroma is exceptionally clean, offering a faint whisper of floral hops against a backdrop of fresh crackers. The palate is refreshingly light and brisk, driven by high carbonation that accentuates its bone-dry finish. With its low 3.8% ABV, it emphasizes pure drinkability and a crisp, well-attenuated profile that remains exceptionally elegant and thirst-quenching.
Appearance. Pale straw to medium yellow (2–3.5 SRM). Brilliant clarity with a white, frothy head that displays moderate persistence.
Aroma. Low intensity. Clean and grainy-sweet malt character with a subtle rustic, nutty quality from the Spelt. Hop aroma is very low, featuring faint floral and herbal notes. Clean fermentation profile without esters.
Taste. Initial impression is crisp and neutral. The palate features low grainy malt flavor with a touch of earthy character. Hop bitterness is low, providing just enough balance to avoid cloying sweetness. Finish is short, clean, and very dry.
Mouthfeel. Light-bodied and lean. Very highly carbonated with a lively, sparkling carbonic bite on the tongue. Smooth with no alcohol warmth or astringency.

Our Landbier is light and spritzy with a gentle noble hop notes – perfectly crafted to enjoy all throughout the day.

This lager would be hard to apply a definitive style to, so we’ve elected to use “Landbier” calling out the farms and place this beer originates from.  “Landbier” means beer of the area and is a term used to denote more of a place of origin than a specific brewing style. Originating from the Franconia region of Germany,  “Landbier” is both a representation of the highly local culture of historic German towns and villages and the modern popularization of regionalized craft beer. -Fair Isle
