Imperial Stout 10.5 º
This Imperial Stout presents a decadent sensory profile, born from a collaboration between Factory Brewing and Track Brewing. The use of Ugandan Vanilla and Peruvian Coffee creates an opulent aromatic bouquet reminiscent of mocha and dark caramel. A deep foundation of roasted malts provides structural balance against the lush, milk chocolate notes driven by the vanilla. The beer pours with a dense viscosity, revealing layers of toasted grain and espresso. Each sip transitions from a velvety, dessert-like sweetness to a refined, roasty finish, reflecting a sophisticated interplay between the warming 10.5% ABV and the complex adjuncts.
Appearance. Jet black and opaque (SRM 40+). Pours with a thick, dense, dark tan head with moderate retention. High viscosity is evident through visible legs on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity. Dominant notes of freshly roasted Peruvian Coffee and sweet, aromatic Ugandan Vanilla. Secondary layers of dark caramel, milk chocolate, and toasty malt. Very low dark fruit esters (prunes). Clean fermentation with a smooth, noticeable alcohol presence.
Taste. Rich and sweet initial impression. Complex flavors of mocha and milk chocolate lead, followed by the deep, creamy character of Ugandan Vanilla. The Peruvian Coffee provides a necessary roasted bitterness to balance the heavy dark caramel malt sweetness. The mid-palate reveals toasted bread and cocoa, finishing with a long, lingering aftertaste of sweet vanilla bean and bittersweet espresso.
Mouthfeel. Very full-bodied, chewy, and coating; a velvety, luscious texture. Low to moderate carbonation. Noticeable, smooth alcohol warmth that is well-integrated without being hot or sharp.
