NEIPA - New England IPA 7.3 º
Meadows is a vibrant Hazy IPA that showcases a sophisticated interplay between Citra, Rakau, and Bru-1 hops. This 7.3% ale opens with a saturated profile of tropical pineapple and bright citrus, courtesy of the Citra and Bru-1 additions. The Rakau hops introduce a distinct New Zealand character, layering in sweet stone fruit notes and a subtle, dank New Zealand funk that adds complexity. Its soft, pillowy texture supports the intense fruit flavors without harshness. The result is a lush, hop-forward experience where the massive fruit-forward late-hopping takes center stage over a restrained, smooth bitterness, finishing with a lingering, juicy resonance.
Appearance. Straw to very light amber (4 SRM) with a characteristic opaque, glowing haze. Topped with a dense, rocky, meringue-like white head that demonstrates high retention and leaves intricate lacing.
Aroma. High intensity aroma dominated by tropical fruit and citrus. Prominent notes of fresh pineapple and orange zest from Citra and Bru-1 are complemented by a complex stone fruit sweetness and a subtle, earthy, dank quality from the Rakau. Malt is neutral, providing a light, bready background without any toasted or caramel notes.
Taste. High fruity hop flavor featuring layers of mango, peach, and pineapple. The mid-palate introduces a slight resinous dankness and sweet stone fruit character. Bitterness is moderate but perceived as soft due to the full body. Fermentation is clean, and the finish is off-dry and juicy, leaving a pleasant, non-harsh hop aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a remarkably smooth, soft mouthfeel. Carbonation is moderate. A gentle, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present, reflecting the 7.3% ABV. Free from any astringency or raw starch texture.
