Lucid Dreams is a focused Double IPA that bridges the gap between classic bitterness and modern hop aromatics. This collaboration with Track Brewing Co yields a profile defined by extreme hop saturation. Intense notes of stone fruit from Nectaron and the signature crushed gooseberry of Nelson Sauvin lead the charge, supported by the bright, zesty lime of Motueka and the classic citrus-grapefruit of Citra. True to its West Coast inspiration, the beer is remarkably dry and crisp, stripping away heavy malt weight to allow the resinous bitterness to shine. It is a lean, powerful expression of New Zealand and American hop craft.
Appearance.Deep gold to pale copper with brilliant clarity. It carries a moderate-sized, persistent, off-white head that leaves tight lacing on the glass.
Aroma.High intensity hop aroma featuring a complex blend of tropical passion fruit, peach, and citrus zest. Distinctive notes of white grape and crushed gooseberry are prominent, supported by a very low, neutral, grainy malt background. Fermentation is clean with no significant esters.
Taste.Dominated by hop flavors of stone fruit, lime, and grapefruit. Bitterness is firm and assertive but remains clean and devoid of harshness. The malt character is soft and unobtrusive, allowing for a bone-dry finish with a long, resinous aftertaste of citrus and tropical fruit.
Mouthfeel.Medium body with a smooth, lean texture. Carbonation is medium-high, enhancing the crisp, refreshing character. A well-integrated, light alcohol warmth is present, reflecting the strength without becoming solventy.
