Farmstead Dreams is a formidable Hazy Triple IPA that bridges lush tropicality with unexpected rustic complexity. This collaboration with Rivington Brewing utilizes a heavy-handed dry hop of Motueka, Nectaron, Southern Cross, and Galaxy to create a multifaceted profile. While Galaxy and Nectaron provide a core of ripe stone fruit and passionfruit, the addition of Southern Cross introduces a distinct peppery edge and earthy funk that mirrors a rural landscape. At 9.5% ABV, it carries a significant presence, balancing its high-octane fruit intensity with a nuanced, spicy finish and a smooth, saturated texture characteristic of a modern Double IPA.
Appearance. Deep gold to light orange (7-9 SRM). Opaque, uniform haziness. Thick, persistent, creamy white head with dense lacing.
Aroma. Intense and complex hop bouquet. Dominant notes of passionfruit and peach from Galaxy and Nectaron are layered over Motueka’s bright lime zest. A secondary layer of damp earth, pine resin, and cracked peppercorn provides a funky depth. Low, bready malt in the background with a clean, warming alcohol note.
Taste. Initial burst of tropical fruit juice—mango, apricot, and lime—quickly followed by a bold, spicy pepperiness. The hop bitterness is firm but smooth. Malt flavor is supportive and grainy, providing a platform for the Southern Cross and Nectaron to express herbal and earthy tones. The finish is long, with lingering resin and fruit skin.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a creamy, soft texture. Carbonation is moderate. Noticeable but well-integrated alcohol warmth provides a slow glow. Very low astringency despite the massive hop load.
