Eye Opener is a massive, velvety Imperial Coffee Stout that highlights a sophisticated collaboration with Samples Coffee and Good Life Coffee. At 12% ABV, it presents a formidable sensory experience, leading with an intense, freshly roasted espresso aroma and deep layers of dark chocolate and scorched malt. The coffee integration is masterfully executed, providing nuances of red berries and toasted nuts that dance alongside the robust roasted bitterness from the base malts. This viscous liquid flows with a luxurious weight, offering a complex interplay of bittersweet cocoa, charred grain, and a persistent, warming alcohol finish that defines the decadent profile of this potent brew.

Appearance. Opaque, deep ebony to jet black (SRM 40+). Pours with a thick, creamy, dark tan head with excellent retention and significant lacing on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity aroma dominated by freshly ground coffee and espresso. Supporting notes of bittersweet chocolate, burnt toast, and dark dried fruits like plums and raisins. Subtle earthy hops and a noticeable but clean ethanol presence.

Taste. Initial impression is of intense, high-quality coffee and rich dark malts. Flavors of baker's chocolate, espresso, and caramelized sugar are prominent. Medium-high bitterness from both roasted grains and hops provides balance against the residual sweetness. The finish is long and complex, featuring lingering notes of charred wood and berry-like coffee acidity.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and highly viscous, almost chewy. Carbonation is moderate. Significant alcohol warmth is present but integrated. Smooth texture with no harsh astringency from the coffee or roasted grains.
