This collaborative Hazy IPA presents an intense tapestry of New World hop character. The aroma is dominated by the specific contributions of Citra and Simcoe, offering layers of bright lime, mango, and underlying pine. Nelson and Motueka introduce sophisticated notes of Sauvignon Blanc grape and zesty lemon-lime, while Strata adds a complex punch of passion fruit. Appearance. Straw to deep gold (4–6 SRM) with a luminous, opaque haze. It supports a thick, white, meringue-like head with high retention and significant lacing.
Aroma. High intensity aromatics of tropical and citrus fruits. Distinctive notes of white grape and gooseberry from Nelson, zesty lime from Motueka, and sweet mango from Citra. Strata provides passion fruit and a touch of dank complexity, while Simcoe offers a subtle evergreen note. A neutral, bready malt character sits quietly in the background.
Taste. Explosive fruit-forward flavors mirroring the aroma. Initial impressions of sweet citrus and tropical juice lead into mid-palate notes of stone fruit and crushed berries. The low to medium-low bitterness is well-masked by the substantial body. The finish is soft and off-dry, leaving a clean, lingering essence of tropical hop oils without any harshness or astringency.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy texture and no harshness. Moderate carbonation provides a gentle lift to the palate. A light, pleasant alcohol warmth is present, enhancing the overall richness.
