This decadent Imperial Stout, a collaboration between Factory Brewing and Two Flints Brewery, offers a lush sensory experience reminiscent of a layered coconut-chocolate cake served alongside a fresh espresso. The base beer delivers deep waves of rich chocolate and dark caramel malts, which are seamlessly integrated with the tropical sweetness of toasted Coconut and the aromatic depth of freshly roasted Coffee. Fragrant Vanilla beans enhance the dessert-like profile, adding a creamy, floral sweetness that rounds out the intense malt character. At 12% ABV, it presents a substantial, velvety presence where the roast of the grain and the bitterness of the coffee balance the pastry-inspired sweetness.

Appearance. Jet black and completely opaque (40+ SRM). It pours with a thick, dense, mocha-colored head that shows moderate retention. High viscosity is evident, with visible legs forming on the sides of the glass.

Aroma. High intensity with a dominant blend of bittersweet chocolate, cocoa, and heavy caramel maltiness. Strong notes of freshly ground coffee and sweet, nutty toasted coconut are prominent. Vanilla provides a smooth, marshmallow-like sweetness that complements light esters of dried plums and raisins. Hop aroma is not perceived.

Taste. An initial impression of massive sweetness and rich roastiness. Flavors of milk chocolate, fudge, and dark caramel provide a deep base for the macaroon-like toasted coconut and floral vanilla. The coffee adds a sharp, roasty counterpoint that provides much of the bitterness. The balance is moderately sweet and dessert-like, yet the roast prevents it from being cloying. The finish is long and lingering with notes of coconut oil and espresso.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and viscous with a chewy, syrupy texture. Carbonation is low to moderate. A smooth, noticeable alcohol warmth is present but well-integrated into the luscious, velvety mouthfeel.
