Tortuga presents as a vibrant American IPA, pouring a brilliant amber with a dense, enduring foam. The sensory experience is led by a bold aromatic profile where bright citrus and tropical exotic fruits clash with deep resinous tones and fresh pine needles. On the palate, the hop-forward character remains dominant, supported by a subtle toasted malt backbone that quickly yields to a clean, intense bitterness. Appearance. Brilliant reddish-amber color (approx. 10-12 SRM); thick, off-white, compact head with excellent persistence and lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring a complex blend of grapefruit citrus, tropical mango, and pineapple, balanced by assertive notes of resin and pine needles. Very low, clean, slightly toasty malt background with a neutral fermentation profile.
Taste. Initial citrus and exotic fruit flavors transition into a heavy resinous and piney hop character. Low toasted malt sweetness is present but brief. High bitterness that is firm and long-lasting without being harsh. Finishes dry and hoppy.
