The olfactory experience is defined by an intricate tapestry of bready malts and Belgian yeast-driven esters, seamlessly intertwined with festive aromas of cinnamon and zesty bitter orange peel. On the palate, the complex malt sweetness is expertly tempered by a dry, elegant finish that highlights subtle, earthy nuances of licorice root. Despite its significant 9% ABV, the alcohol remains remarkably well-integrated, providing a gentle, creeping warmth that complements the beer’s spicy character without overwhelming the delicate balance of seasonal botanicals.

Appearance. SRM 18–22; deep amber to dark reddish-brown with brilliant clarity. Features a thick, fine-textured, long-lasting beige head with excellent lacing.

Aroma. High intensity with a complex malt backbone of caramel and toasted crust. Pronounced Belgian yeast esters suggesting dried plum and pear are complemented by distinct cinnamon and bright bitter orange zest. Low floral hop notes and a faint woody sweetness from licorice root.

Taste. Initial rich malt sweetness featuring caramel and nutty depth, quickly balanced by spicy cinnamon and citrus peel. The fermentation character is distinctly Belgian with fruity esters. Bitterness is low but supportive, leading to a surprisingly dry finish with a lingering, slightly herbal reminiscence of licorice root. Alcohol is smooth and supportive.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a pleasant malty chewiness. Moderate carbonation provides a slightly creamy texture. Noticeable but well-hidden alcohol warmth that only emerges in the finish. No harsh astringency.
