This massive Double IPA presents a saturated sensory experience, defined by its extreme potency and lush hop profile. An aggressive charge of Galaxy and Citra hops unleashes intense aromas of passionfruit, ripe peach, and zesty grapefruit. The palate is dominated by resinous bitterness and tropical fruit layers, supported by a lean, grainy malt base that keeps the focus on the hop character. Despite its staggering alcohol content, the finish remains remarkably clean and dry, though a deep, radiating alcohol warmth is undeniable. It is a bold, high-gravity interpretation that pushes the boundaries of the style with a complex, lingering bitterness.
Appearance. Deep gold to light orange-copper with a slight hop haze. Features a moderate-sized, persistent off-white head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. Intense hop aroma with prominent tropical notes of passionfruit and pineapple from the Galaxy hops, alongside bright citrus zest and lime from the Citra. Background is clean and grainy with a noticeable but smooth alcohol presence.
Taste. Strong, complex hop flavors of mango, peach, and resinous pine. Bitterness is very high and firm but lacks harshness. The malt character is neutral and unobtrusive, leading to a medium-dry finish with a lingering hoppy aftertaste and smooth alcohol sweetness.
