This monumental Imperial Stout represents a complex marriage of time and wood, resulting from a forty-month slumber in Blis Bourbon maple syrup, Willet, and Balcones Blue Corn Whiskey barrels. The sensory profile is dominated by an opulent quartet of Indian, Ugandan, West Indonesian, and Madagascar vanilla, which weaves through deep layers of bittersweet chocolate and espresso. The long barrel aging introduces profound notes of charred oak, caramel, and a distinct maple sweetness. While the roast remains firm, the sheer density of dark fruit esters and spirituous warmth creates a luxurious, dessert-like experience. It is a decadent, viscous masterpiece that showcases the harmonious interplay between spirit, spice, and malt.

Appearance. Jet black and completely opaque (40+ SRM). It pours with a thick, dense, deep tan head with moderate retention. Due to the high alcohol content and sugar density, prominent legs and high viscosity are visible on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity aroma featuring a multifaceted vanilla profile from the four-origin blend. Deep notes of maple syrup, charred oak, and bourbon-soaked dark chocolate are prominent. Underlying dark fruit esters of raisin and prune mingle with a noticeable but smooth whiskey warmth and toasted grain.

Taste. An explosion of bittersweet chocolate, roasted coffee, and rich maple syrup. The mid-palate is saturated with layers of complex vanilla and toasted coconut from the extended barrel residency. Flavors of corn whiskey and bourbon provide a spirituous backbone. Bitterness is moderate but masked by high residual sweetness, leading to a long, lingering finish of vanilla bean, oak, and dark fruit.

Mouthfeel. Very full-bodied with a viscous, chewy, and velvety texture. Carbonation is low to moderate-low, enhancing the creamy mouthfeel. A significant, smooth alcohol warmth is present, reflecting the high gravity without becoming solventy or harsh.
