Estrella Galicia 1906 Black Coupage is a bold, sophisticated interpretation of a Munich Dunkel that pushes into the intensity of a Dunkles Bock. This "Black Coupage" features a complex blend of four select roasted malts, delivering a sensory profile layered with baker’s chocolate, coffee, and subtle liquorice. The use of Sladek hops provides a delicate floral lift to the aroma, while Nugget hops establish a firm, foundational bitterness that ensures a balanced finish. Despite its 7.2% strength, the beer remains remarkably smooth and clean, showcasing a toasted malt richness that lingers elegantly without harshness or excessive sweetness.

Appearance. Opaque black with brilliant copper and ruby highlights. Features a voluminous, persistent, light tan to coffee-colored head with excellent lacing.

Aroma. Moderate to high intensity malt richness, defined by toasted bread crusts, toffee, and roasted coffee. A light floral hop character from the Sladek variety is evident, supported by a clean fermentation profile devoid of fruity esters or phenols.

Taste. Rich toasted malt flavors of cocoa, espresso, and liquorice. Bitterness is firm and moderate, providing a clean balance to the malt-forward profile. The Nugget hops ensure a structured finish that is medium-dry and smooth, with a lingering aftertaste of dark chocolate and toasted grain.
