Pale Ale 5 º 30 IBU
This Ordinary Bitter presents a complex malt backbone driven by Munich and Caramunich malts, offering rich layers of toasted bread crust, toffee, and a hint of vanilla. Traditional Willamette hops provide earthy and floral undertones, while Simcoe introduces a nuanced orange peel brightness. Subtle specialty notes of cinnamon and spices weave through the profile, enhancing the toasted caramel sweetness derived from Caramber malts. Despite its sessionable intent, the beer maintains a sophisticated balance between malt depth and a firm, earthy bitterness. It finishes dry with a lingering touch of chocolate and spice, embodying a refined yet highly approachable English-inspired profile.
Appearance. Bright amber to light copper with distinct reddish reflections; brilliant clarity. Topped by a moderate, creamy, ocher-tinted head with good retention.
Aroma. Moderate intensity featuring dominant toasted malt notes of bread crust, grain, and caramel. Hop aroma is earthy and floral from Willamette, complemented by a light citrus lift of orange peel. Low fruity esters are present alongside subtle hints of cinnamon and vanilla.
Taste. Initial toasted caramel and toffee sweetness is quickly met by medium-high earthy bitterness. Malt flavors of bread crust and grain are prominent. Hop flavor is earthy and herbal with a touch of orange zest. The finish is decidedly dry and pleasantly bitter, leaving faint lingering notes of chocolate and baking spices.
Mouthfeel. Light to medium-light body with moderate, fully integrated carbonation. Smooth and clean on the palate with very light alcohol warmth and no astringency.
