This Hazy IPA, a collaboration between Espiga and Tyris, presents a velvety sensory experience driven by a substantial addition of oats in the grist. The aromatic profile is defined by a massive dry-hop charge of Mosaic, Wai-iti, Hallertau Blanc, and Simcoe, yielding intense notes of fresh peach, ripe melon, and elegant white grape. On the palate, a bright citrus foundation provides a refreshing counterpoint to the soft, juice-like esters. Despite its creamy texture and opaque appearance, the beer maintains excellent drinkability with a surprisingly dry finish that cleanses the palate after each fruity, hop-saturated sip.
Appearance.Straw to light gold (4-6 SRM). Opaque, uniform haze with a brilliant shine. Topped by a dense, rocky, meringue-like white head with high retention and thick lacing.
Aroma.High intensity hop aroma featuring dominant stone fruit (peach) and tropical notes (melon) alongside a distinct white grape character. A light, bready, and grainy malt background from the oats and wheat supports the hops. Clean fermentation with subtle fruity esters and no detectable alcohol heat.
Taste.High fruity hop flavors of peach, melon, and citrus zest. Hallertau Blanc introduces a sophisticated white grape nuance. Moderate-low perceived bitterness is soft and integrated, never harsh. Neutral malt character allows the hop complexity to lead into a medium-dry, clean finish that provides more crispness than typical for the style.
Mouthfeel.Medium-full body with a remarkably smooth, silky, and creamy texture due to the flaked oats. Moderate carbonation. Very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth with no astringency or harshness.
