Esbjerg Bryghus Suset '24
Suset ’24 is a vibrant Hazy IPA that showcases a punchy tropical profile through a calculated blend of Citra, Mosaic, and Galaxy hops. The sensory experience is dominated by lush, saturated notes of ripe mango and passion fruit, with underlying hints of citrus and berry. Designed for festival drinkability at 6% ABV, the beer emphasizes a soft, pillowy texture and a restrained bitterness that allows the juicy hop oils to take center stage. Low bready malt notes provide a supportive base for the intense stone fruit esters, resulting in a smooth, fruit-forward finish that captures the essence of a modern New England-style ale.
Appearance. Straw to light amber (3–7 SRM) with a deep, opaque haze and a luminous glow. Crowned by a dense, rocky, white meringue-like head with excellent retention and thick lacing.
Aroma. High-intensity aroma of tropical fruit, specifically ripe mango, guava, and passion fruit. Subtle notes of citrus peel and stone fruit are supported by a neutral, lightly bready malt backbone and faint fruity fermentation esters.
Taste. Very high fruity hop flavor mirroring the aroma, featuring dominant mango and tropical punch. Malt flavor is low and clean with a crackery or grainy character. Perceived bitterness is moderate but soft, balancing an off-dry finish that is juicy and smooth without being cloying or harsh.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a characteristic soft, round, and plush texture. Carbonation is moderate. No harsh hop astringency or alcohol warmth is present, making it exceptionally smooth.
