Eric Bordelet’s Poiré Authentique is an elegant, semi-dry Traditional Perry that captures the essence of heritage pear trees from Normandy. It pours with a pale brilliance and a lively, champagne-like effervescence. The bouquet is defined by fresh, delicate pear skin and blossom aromas, supported by subtle earthy mineral notes characteristic of Bordelet’s terroir-driven approach. On the palate, it is crisp and thirst-quenching, showcasing a balanced interplay between juicy pear sweetness and a refined, slightly tannic dryness. The finish is remarkably clean, leaving a lingering impression of soft fruit and limestone-like acidity. It remains a sophisticated, refreshing expression of the orchard.

Appearance. Pale straw to light yellow (SRM 1–2); brilliant clarity with vigorous, fine champagne-like bubbles and a fleeting white head that leaves minimal lacing.

Aroma. High intensity of fresh pear and pear skin; delicate floral notes resembling fruit blossoms; clean fermentation profile with a subtle mineral or wet-stone undertone and no detectable spice or funk.

Taste. Initial impression of juicy, ripe pear followed by a balanced semi-dry sweetness. No hop bitterness or malt character is present. The acidity is bright and provides a crisp counterpoint to the fruit. Light tannins add structural complexity, leading to a clean, refreshing finish with a lingering soft pear aftertaste.
