Riwaka Nebula is an intensely vibrant Double IPA that showcases the unique, punchy character of Riwaka hops, supported by Idaho 7 and Citra. A substantial base of 2-row, white wheat, and oats provides a soft, pillowy canvas for a cosmic explosion of citrus and tropical fruit. Aromas of orange gummy slices and fresh-cut grass lead into a complex palate featuring orange marmalade, limeade, and a distinctive white pepper bite. The sensory experience is defined by Equilibrium’s signature melon-forward finish, balancing earthy grass notes with a candy-like sweetness, resulting in a bold, aromatic, and remarkably smooth profile.
Appearance. Deep yellow (5-6 SRM) with a pronounced haze. Topped by a moderate-sized, persistent white head with fine lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop character featuring prominent notes of orange gummy slices, lemon wedges, and fresh-cut grass. Background notes of grainy malt and a hint of tropical melon; clean fermentation profile with no solventy alcohol.
Taste. Strong hop flavors of orange juice, limeade, and marmalade. A unique Smarties candy-like sweetness is balanced by an earthy grass component and a distinctive white pepper bite. Bitterness is firm but smooth, avoiding harshness. The finish is long and lingering, dominated by bright melon and citrus.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a smooth, creamy texture derived from the oat and wheat additions. Moderate carbonation with a noticeable, well-integrated alcohol warmth. Minimal astringency.
