Utilizing a specialized grain bill and Colombia Tolima coffee from Mostra Coffee, the beer presents a sophisticated interplay of spice and roasted depth. Expect a rich profile where mulling spices, cinnamon, and clove weave through layers of milky dark chocolate and caramel apple. The integration of high-grade coffee provides a vibrant backbone of fresh roast and leather, balanced by notes of dried cherries and vanilla. The result is a luxurious, affogato-like experience that emphasizes a smooth, low-bitterness finish and immense structural complexity.
Appearance. Jet black (SRM 40+). Dense, saturated caramel-colored head with good retention and thick lacing. Opaque clarity.
Aroma. High intensity aroma featuring dark chocolate, caramel apple, and aromatic spices including cinnamon and clove. Freshly roasted coffee is prominent, complemented by dried fruit and a faint hint of leather. Malt character is deeply roasted but smooth.
Taste. Initial impression is of rich, milky dark chocolate and espresso. Complex fruit notes of dried cherries and apple are supported by mulling spice and vanilla. The Colombia Tolima coffee provides a lingering, high-quality roast backbone. Low to moderate hop bitterness provides just enough balance against the residual malt sweetness. The finish is long and clean, reminiscent of a coffee-based dessert.
Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and viscous with a dense, heavy weight on the palate. Low to moderate carbonation. Noticeable but well-integrated alcohol warmth. Silky and exceptionally creamy texture with no hop or roasted grain astringency.
