This Double IPA is a celestial collision of Apollo, Comet, Strata, and Victorian Galaxy hops, delivering a profile that balances resinous forest floors with vibrant tropical groves. The presence of flaked oats and wheat creates a soft, pillowy foundation for aromas of fresh pine and lemongrass to intermingle with pungent passionfruit and mango. On the palate, the experience intensifies with notes of zesty tangerine, lime gummy wedges, and a cooling melon fruit salad. A subtle whisper of coconut emerges before transitioning into a characteristically dank and fruity finish, exemplifying a modern, hop-saturated sensory journey.
Appearance. Pours a pale, milky yellow (SRM 3-4) with an opaque haze. Features a thick, persistent white head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop character featuring prominent dank pine, lemongrass, and resinous forest notes. Secondary layers reveal ripe passionfruit and mango over a clean, neutral, grainy malt background.
Taste. Initial burst of tropical fruit including mango and tangerine, followed by lime zest and assorted melon. Low, supportive bready malt character. Bitterness is firm but smooth, lacking harshness. Finishes with a lingering dankness and tropical fruit sweetness.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full, luscious body with a creamy texture derived from oats and wheat. Moderate carbonation. Smooth, well-integrated alcohol warmth without being solventy. No hop-derived astringency.
