Hop Wave 5 is an amplified Double IPA that showcases the vibrant synergy of Citra and Galaxy hops. It presents a striking sensory profile defined by a pungent, citrus-forward aroma—enhanced by experimental techniques—alongside lush notes of pineapple, passion fruit, and peach. The addition of lactose imparts a sorbet-like quality, softening the high hop intensity. On the palate, the experience is bright and creamy, where tropical fruit flavors meld with a gentle malt backbone. Despite its 8.5% strength, it maintains a remarkable balance, offering a soft mouthfeel and a dangerously drinkable finish that masks its potent alcohol presence.

Appearance. Straw yellow to pale gold (3-5 SRM). Milky and opaque clarity with a thick, persistent white head that leaves dense lacing on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity; dominant hop-derived notes of fresh-squeezed citrus, tropical pineapple, passion fruit, and fuzzy peach. A subtle, sweet creaminess from lactose suggests a fruit sorbet. Malt is low and neutral, providing a clean background for the pungent hop profile.

Taste. Initial impression is bright tropical fruit flavors of citrus and stone fruit. Moderate bitterness is present but exceptionally soft and integrated, lacking any harshness. Low, supportive malt sweetness is enhanced by a creamy lactose character. The finish is clean and balanced with a lingering, fruit-saturated aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, creamy, and lush texture. Moderate carbonation. Alcohol provides a restrained, smooth warmth without being hot or solventy. No hop-derived astringency.
