This collaborative Double IPA utilizes a 2-row base to support a massive hop profile. Whirlpool additions of Citra and Idaho 7 establish a tropical foundation, while a heavy dry-hop regimen of Citra, Mosaic, Amarillo, Sabro, and Victorian Galaxy drives the sensory experience. Aromas of candied pineapple and passionfruit precede a complex palate of tangelo, peach skins, and lime. Subtle cereal-like malt notes reminiscent of berry treats provide a soft backdrop. The experience concludes with a signature rainbow melon finish and a creamy, saturated mouthfeel that masks the 8% strength with significant hop saturation and a bright, juice-like character.
Appearance.Milky yellow in color (3-5 SRM). Features a thick, persistent white head with dense lacing. The appearance is opaque and hazy, typical of modern interpretations.
Aroma.High intensity hop-forward bouquet dominated by candied pineapple, passionfruit, and tropical fruit stripes. Very low, clean, grain-neutral malt presence. Fermentation is clean with negligible yeast esters, allowing the citrus and stone fruit hop notes to lead.
Taste.Initial tropical fruit bomb of passionfruit and tangelo. Hop flavors of peach skins, lime, and pineapple candy are prominent. Low, soft, supportive cereal malt character. Bitterness is moderate to firm but smooth and lacks any harshness. The finish is medium-dry with a lingering, bright melon and tropical fruit aftertaste.
Mouthfeel.Medium-full body with a distinctly creamy and velvety texture. Moderate carbonation provides a soft lift. Restrained, smooth alcohol warmth is present but well-integrated, with no hop-derived astringency.
