This Double IPA pours with a dense, "uber" haze, signaling a soft, creamy palate derived from a complex grist of torrefied wheat, malted oats, flaked wheat, and chit malt. The aroma is dominated by intense Nelson Sauvin, delivering crushed gooseberry and white grape, supported by the tropical depth of Krush, Eclipse, and Citra. On the tongue, a saturated blend of mango, tangerine, and lychee orange juice mimics a creamsicle-like richness. The finish features a distinctive melon pop and a refined bitterness, balancing the luscious texture and high-gravity warmth into a remarkably smooth, fruit-forward experience.
Appearance. Straw to deep gold (4-6 SRM). Opaque, heavy haze with a thick, creamy, long-lasting white head and dense lacing.
Aroma. High intensity. Punchy Nelson Sauvin character featuring white grape and gooseberry is at the forefront. Layers of tropical mango, citrusy tangerine, and floral lychee. Neutral, grainy malt sweetness in the background with a faint hint of sweet cream.
Taste. Bold tropical fruit explosion of mango and lychee, transitioning into bright tangerine citrus. Medium-low grainy malt support with a soft, doughy character. Bitterness is moderate and pleasant, never harsh. The finish is juicy and clean with a lingering honeydew melon aftertaste and a touch of residual fruit sweetness.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a notable creamy, pillowy texture from the heavy use of oats and wheat. Moderate carbonation. Gentle, well-integrated alcohol warmth. No hop-derived astringency.
