Equilibrium Brewery Dream Wave Fluctuation

Dream Wave Fluctuation is a sensory-rich Double IPA that merges Equilibrium’s hop-forward approach with Other Half’s signature Dream treatment. The aggressive use of Galaxy and Citra hops creates an intense bouquet of passion fruit, peach, and bright citrus. The addition of oats and lactose transforms the mouthfeel into a lush, velvety experience, smoothing out the high alpha acid impact. You will find layers of ripe mango and pineapple intertwined with a creamy sweetness that buffers the 8.1% ABV. It is a vivid, tropical exploration where the sharp edges of a traditional Double IPA are softened into a decadent, hazy dreamscape.
Appearance. Pours a hazy, glowing apricot to pale orange (6-8 SRM). It is topped by a thick, persistent white head with excellent lacing and a creamy, mousse-like texture.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of passion fruit, peach, and pineapple from the Galaxy hops, supported by Citra-driven mango and grapefruit zest. A faint, sweet lactose note and a doughy, grainy malt character provide a soft background. Fermentation is clean with very light fruity esters.
Taste. The initial impression is an explosion of tropical fruit, with Galaxy providing deep notes of passion fruit and stone fruit. Citra follows with bright lime and orange peel flavors. There is a supportive, bready malt presence enhanced by a creamy lactose sweetness. The hop bitterness is moderate and smooth, never harsh, balancing the residual sugars. The finish is medium-dry with a lingering citrus and tropical fruit aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a distinctly creamy and soft texture due to the use of oats and lactose. Carbonation is moderate. A light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present but remains smooth and non-solventy. No hop-derived astringency is perceived.
