Epic Brewing Company Epic Stout
Designed as a restorative malt reset, this Irish Stout presents a comforting sensory profile that balances approachability with depth. A signature aroma of freshly ground coffee and unsweetened cocoa arises from the heavy use of dark roasted malts, complemented by a subtle, earthy hop presence. The palate is defined by a clean, moderate bitterness and a dry, roasted grain character that mimics espresso. Despite its sessionable strength, it maintains a satisfyingly medium body and a creamy, smooth texture that lingers with a long, roasty finish. It is a quintessential dark ale, providing a velvety and satisfying alternative to hop-heavy styles.
Appearance. Jet black to deep ebony with brilliant garnet highlights; opaque; features a thick, long-lasting, creamy tan head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. Moderate to high intensity; dominant aromas of cold-brew coffee and charred roasted barley; secondary notes of bittersweet chocolate and dark cocoa; very low earthy hop aroma and minimal fruity esters.
Taste. Initial impression of sharp roasted grain and espresso; moderate bitterness provides a clean, dry edge; mid-palate offers unsweetened cocoa and a hint of toasted bread; finishes very dry and roasty with a lingering coffee-like aftertaste; well-balanced with no cloying sweetness.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a notably creamy and smooth texture; moderate carbonation; no perceptible alcohol warmth; very low grain astringency despite the heavy roast profile.

The last couple of years we have released Beer Blanket and Fat Shady as more approachable lower ABV Stouts verses our bigger stouts such as Double Stout, Imperium and the gold medal winning collaboration Epic Sparks Imperial Stout. These lower alcohol stouts are easier to drink, less filling and more manageable when having a couple.
Now, Epic Stout is that go-to Stout we have been working towards; A stout that will always be there when you are looking for that malt reset on your palate after drinking too many IPA's, or just for those cold winter evenings when you are looking for something more comforting. Epic Stout has a medium body, creamy texture and long roasty finish. Satisfying, creamy and smooth.
