Amarillo Armadillo presents a radiant, opaque golden-orange pour crowned by a dense, white meringue-like head. This Hazy IPA is defined by a massive saturation of Amarillo hops, radiating high-intensity aromas of sun-ripened orange, peach, and floral nectar. The palate mirrors the nose, delivering lush layers of citrus zest and stone fruit supported by a subtle, bready malt backbone. A soft, medium-full body provides a plush mouthfeel, while the bitterness remains restrained and smooth rather than sharp. The 6.7% ABV is seamlessly integrated, finishing off-dry with a lingering, juicy essence of tangerine and apricot.
Appearance. 3-7 SRM (Golden-orange). Opaque, hazy with a characteristic shine; no visible particulates. Large, persistent white head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity. Dominated by Amarillo hop character: orange zest, ripe peach, and floral blossoms. Clean, grainy-sweet malt in the background. Neutral fermentation profile.
Taste. High fruity hop flavor with notes of tangerine and stone fruit. Low bready malt flavor. Bitterness is moderate but perceived as soft and masked by the body. Finish is off-dry and clean without hop harshness or astringency.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body. Moderate carbonation. Smooth and soft on the tongue with no raw starch texture. Very light alcohol warmth.
