Del Tropico is a luscious Hazy IPA defined by an expressive, tropical bouquet. Centered on the innovative HBC 1019 and HBC 1019 cryo hops, the sensory profile is saturated with rich notes of peach syrup, succulent ripe apricots, and a distinct, creamy coconut undertone. This tropical intensity is brightened by the classic citrus punch of Citra and Citra incognito, providing a structured grapefruit flesh bitterness that balances the soft, bready malt base. The result is a vibrant, juicy experience that marries stone fruit sweetness with a clean, citrus-driven finish, epitomizing the modern, hop-forward character of the style.
Appearance. Straw to deep gold (4-6 SRM) with a significant, opaque haze and a luminous shine. It is topped by a dense, meringue-like white head with excellent retention and thick lacing.
Aroma. High intensity with a complex layering of tropical and stone fruits. Prominent scents of candied peach, apricot, and sweet coconut dominate, supported by zesty grapefruit and orange citrus. The malt contributes a light, grainy, bready background without any toasted or caramel notes.
Taste. An immediate explosion of fruity hop flavors echoing the aroma: peach nectar, apricot, and subtle coconut. A moderate, smooth bitterness emerges mid-palate, reminiscent of pital grapefruit flesh, providing necessary balance to the off-dry finish. The malt is neutral and supportive, while the fermentation character is clean and slightly estery.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy texture and no harshness or astringency. Carbonation is moderate, and at 6.9% ABV, there is a very gentle, well-integrated alcohol warmth that enhances the juicy mouthfeel.
