Appearance. Deep ruby to garnet with a slight haze. Pours with a thin, pink-tinted head that dissipates quickly to a persistent collar; light lacing.
Aroma. High intensity aromatics of sharp lactic acidity and funk. Distinctive notes of tart sour cherry and the green, resinous perfume of black currant buds are prominent. Lemongrass and citrus notes from maqaw pepper intermingle with an underlying earthy, nutty scent from walnut wood.
Taste. Sharp, zesty sour cherry and puckering acidity lead the palate. Mid-palate reveals complex herbal notes and a hint of dark berry skin. Lemony maqaw pepper provides a spicy, citrus-like pop that persists into the finish. Walnut wood adds a dry, woody structure and faint earthiness.
