This Double IPA delivers an assertive sensory profile defined by its high-gravity foundation and an intense, triple-dose hopping regimen. Prominent notes of fresh grapefruit lead a vibrant, fruity aroma that transitions into a palate dominated by high hop bitterness. While a supportive, clean malt sweetness provides initial balance, the experience is driven by bold tropical fruit layers and a sharp, citrus-forward edge. At 10% ABV, it carries a smooth but evident alcohol warmth. The finish is persistent and drying, leaving a lingering bitterness and echoes of tropical fruit on the tongue, reflecting its status as a robust Triple India Pale Ale.
Appearance. Deep gold to light orange-copper color (8-12 SRM). Features a moderate-sized, persistent off-white head with good lacing. Clarity is generally clear, though a light haze may be present due to the high hopping rate.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring sharp grapefruit and fresh tropical fruit. A clean, neutral, grainy malt character sits in the background, supporting the hops without competing. Fermentation is clean with very low fruity esters and a hint of smooth alcohol.
Taste. Initial impression of light, supportive malt sweetness is quickly overtaken by a high, aggressive hop bitterness. Flavors of grapefruit zest and resinous tropical fruit are complex and bold. The finish is medium-dry and clean, with a lingering bitterness and a return of tropical fruit notes in the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a smooth, velvety texture. Carbonation is moderate. A noticeable but well-integrated alcohol warmth reflects the 10% ABV, remaining smooth without being solventy. No harsh hop-derived astringency is present.
