This American IPA captures the essence of the Pacific coast with a vibrant sensory profile defined by its classic West Coast leanings. Bright grapefruit citrus and pungent pine resin lead the experience, evocative of San Diego's breezy evenings. The aromatic hop intensity is supported by a clean, minimalist malt backbone that provides just enough structure without distracting from the hop-forward focus. A crisp, assertive bitterness defines the palate, leading into a dry and impeccably clean finish. It is a refreshing, aromatic, and decidedly bitter ale that balances high drinkability with a punchy, resinous hop character.
Appearance. Brilliant medium gold with exceptional clarity. Supports a medium-sized, persistent white head with good lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent grapefruit zest and sticky pine resin. Low, clean, grainy maltiness provides a neutral base. Fermentation is very clean with no notable esters or phenols.
Taste. Initial hop-forward impression of grapefruit and resinous pine. Bitterness is firm and medium-high, supported by a low level of clean, grainy malt. The finish is medium-dry to dry, leaving a lingering, clean, hoppy aftertaste without harshness.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, crisp texture. Carbonation is medium-high, creating a lively mouthfeel. Alcohol warmth is negligible and well-integrated.
