Elusive Brewing

This Mocha Edition of Morrisman presents as a sophisticated sensory experience built upon a robust Stout base. Deep espresso notes from Anonymous Coffee dominate the initial impression, seamlessly blending with layered dark chocolate and unsweetened cocoa character derived from multi-stage additions. While the addition of vanilla provides a subtle, rounded aromatic lift, the palate remains purposefully dry rather than cloying, enhancing its moreish drinkability. The roasted bitterness of the coffee and charred malts provides a clean structure, leading to a lingering, mocha-inflected finish that balances decadence with a crisp, refreshing termination. The result is a highly drinkable, flavor-dense specialty beer.

Appearance. Deep ebony and opaque in the glass. It is topped with a persistent, creamy, mocha-colored head that leaves fine lacing as it recedes (SRM 40).

Aroma. High intensity featuring freshly ground espresso beans and dark chocolate shavings. Secondary notes of vanilla bean and toasted bread crust emerge, with hop aroma nearly absent to allow the specialty ingredients to shine.
