Jetpug is a bright, West Coast-inspired American Pale Ale that highlights a vibrant interplay between classic resinous notes and modern fruitiness. The heavy use of Simcoe and Simcoe Cryo delivers a punchy profile of aromatic pine needles and grapefruit zest, while a generous dry hop of Idaho 7 introduces layers of ripe tropical fruit and stone fruit. A base of neutral pale malts provides a crisp, lean canvas, ensuring the hop-forward character remains the focus. The finish is remarkably clean and refreshingly bitter, making this collaboration a quintessential example of a modern, high-intensity pale ale that balances intensity with drinkability.
Appearance. Pale golden to light amber (6-8 SRM). Topped with a moderately large, white, creamy head featuring good retention and fine lacing. Generally quite clear with a brilliant shimmer.
Aroma. High hop intensity featuring prominent resinous pine, grapefruit, and earthy citrus from Simcoe, complemented by tropical stone fruit notes of mango and apricot from Idaho 7. Low, neutral grainy-sweet maltiness supports the hops. Very low fruity esters with a clean fermentation profile.
Taste. Initial impression is crisp and hop-forward. Strong flavors of pine, citrus peel, and tropical fruit (pineapple, peach) dominate. Neutral malt flavor is low and restrained, providing a lean backbone. Bitterness is moderate to high, firm but smooth, leading to a dry, clean finish. The aftertaste features lingering resinous and fruity hop character without harshness.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with moderate to high carbonation. Overall smooth texture without astringency. Alcohol presence is well-integrated, providing very light warmth.
