Elements Brewing Sequoia is a quintessential American IPA that pays homage to the West Coast tradition. Appearance. Medium gold to light amber with brilliant clarity. Pours with a persistent, medium-sized, off-white head that leaves significant lacing on the glass.

Aroma. Intense hop-forward bouquet featuring prominent notes of resinous pine, dank earth, and grapefruit citrus. Low, clean, grainy malt sweetness provides a subtle foundation. The fermentation profile is very clean with no significant esters, allowing the hop trio of Simcoe, Centennial, and Columbus to dominate.

Taste. High hop bitterness hits immediately, balanced by a light, bready malt character. Flavors of pine needles, resin, and lemon zest are front and center. The mid-palette is dry and crisp, typical of the West Coast style. The finish is long and bitter with a lingering citrus and evergreen aftertaste. Alcohol is well-integrated but provides a subtle, clean presence.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly oily hop texture. Moderate-high carbonation provides a crisp, refreshing bite. A very light, smooth alcohol warmth is present, commensurate with its 7.7% ABV. No astringency.
