Elements Brewing Indian Summer is a vibrant American IPA executed with a modern, crisp sensibility, delivering an exceptionally dry and refreshing profile. The hop bouquet is defined by an explosive combination of Citra, Centennial, and Nelson Sauvin, yielding bright layers of Meyer lemon, grapefruit, and crushed white grapes. A delicate resinous backbone provides depth against a neutral, cracker-like malt base. Its high attenuation ensures a lean structure that emphasizes a clean, biting bitterness. The experience concludes with a lingering citrus zest and a sharp, sparkling finish, perfectly capturing the transition between the heat of summer and the clarity of autumn.
Appearance. Pale gold to medium gold (approx 6 SRM). Brilliant clarity with a high degree of transparency. Topped by a dense, persistent white head that leaves significant lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of grapefruit and lime from Citra and Centennial, complemented by the distinct white wine and gooseberry character of Nelson Sauvin. A faint piney resin supports the fruit. Low, grainy, cracker-like maltiness remains in the background. Fermentation profile is extremely clean.
Taste. Initial impression is sharply hoppy and dry. Vibrant flavors of citrus peel, tropical fruit, and white currants lead the palate. The malt is minimal, providing just enough grainy support without any sweetness or caramel. Medium-high hop bitterness is clean and assertive, leading into a very dry, crisp finish. The aftertaste is hoppy with a lingering citrus and resinous note.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a crisp, lean texture. High carbonation enhances the refreshing quality and sharpens the hop perception. Smooth without any astringency or harshness; very low, well-integrated alcohol warmth.
