At 6.7% ABV, it presents a slightly more powerful profile than traditional examples, delivering a comforting warmth. Aromas of freshly roasted coffee and milk chocolate arise from the use of dark roasted and chocolate malts, while the significant oatmeal addition provides a signature nutty, grainy character. The palate is a rich interplay of caramel sweetness and toasted bread, balanced by a medium earthy bitterness. It concludes with a smooth, lingering finish that highlights the interplay between roasty dryness and creamy malt depth.
Appearance. Opaque black in color with deep mahogany highlights. It features a thick, persistent, and creamy tan head that leaves consistent lacing as it recedes.
Aroma. Moderate intensity with dominant notes of roasted coffee and dark chocolate. A distinct grainy-nutty oatmeal aroma is present, supported by a light caramel sweetness and very low earthy hop notes. Low fruity esters are detectable.
Taste. Initial flavors of milk chocolate and sweetened espresso are followed by a rich, toasty-nutty graininess from the oats. Bitterness is medium, providing a clean balance against the malt-forward profile. The finish is medium-sweet with a lingering roasted malt and cocoa aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Full-bodied with a remarkably smooth, silky, and velvety texture attributed to the oatmeal. Carbonation is moderate, and the slightly elevated alcohol content provides a gentle, well-integrated warmth.
