Electric Bear Brewing Co

This Australian Sparkling Ale presents a refreshing yet complex profile, boasting an elevated hop presence that sharpens the traditional sensory picture. It pours a deep gold with a persistent, frothy white head and intense effervescence. The aroma is defined by a moderate intensity of earthy and resinous hop notes, interwoven with distinctive esters of pear and crisp red apple. On the palate, a smooth, grainy malt foundation is quickly overtaken by a firm, peppery bitterness that reflects the 'more hops' intent. The beer is highly attenuated, resulting in a crisp, bone-dry finish that lingers with herbal hop character and a spritzy, mouth-filling effervescence.

Appearance. Deep yellow to medium gold in color (5-7 SRM). Features a tall, frothy, and persistent white head with very tiny bubbles. High carbonation is visible through noticeable effervescence; typically cloudy due to roused yeast.

Aroma. Moderate intensity with a balanced mix of earthy and herbaceous hops. Prominent pome fruit esters, specifically pear and apple, are supported by a neutral, grainy malt base. Very fresh examples may exhibit a lightly yeasty or sulfury character.

Taste. Initial impression is of mild, grainy-to-bready malt sweetness, followed by a medium to medium-high bitterness that rises mid-palate. Hop flavors are earthy, resinous, and peppery. Features medium-high esters of apple and pear. The finish is highly attenuated, dry, and crisp with a lingering, somewhat coarse bitterness.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a very high, spritzy carbonation providing a mouth-filling carbonic bite. Smooth texture but gassy. Alcohol warmth is negligible at 4.8% ABV.
