This punchy Double IPA is a high-intensity showcase of Centennial, Citra, and Amarillo hops, further amplified by Amarillo CGX to deliver a saturated citrus profile. The sensory experience is dominated by bold tangerine and chewy dried mango, with a supportive but neutral malt backbone that allows the hop oils to shine. A subtle resinous dankness adds complexity to the tropical fruit layers. At 8% ABV, the beer exhibits a smooth, well-integrated warmth that complements its firm bitterness. It finishes dry and crisp, leaving a lingering impression of citrus zest and floral hops on the palate.
Appearance. Deep gold to light orange-copper (7-9 SRM) with good clarity. Features a moderate-sized, persistent off-white head that leaves substantial lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma with prominent notes of tangerine, tropical mango, and grapefruit. Hints of resinous pine and floral spice are present. Malt character is low and neutral, appearing as a clean, grainy scent in the background.
Taste. Initial impression is a burst of citrus and tropical fruit, specifically tangerine and dried mango. Malt flavor is low, providing a soft, unobtrusive toasted grain base. Bitterness is high but smooth, balanced by the hop saturation. The finish is dry to medium-dry with a lingering hoppy, resinous aftertaste and no harshness.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, oily texture. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a lively mouthfeel. A restrained, smooth alcohol warmth is present, reflecting its 8% strength without being solventy.
