El Pondo Hefeweizen is a vibrant expression of the classic Weissbier style, showcasing a prominent fermentation profile driven by traditional Weizen yeast. Aromas of ripe banana and spicy clove dominate the senses, harmonizing with a delicate, bready foundation of malted wheat and Pilsner malt. This pale gold ale pours with a signature hazy appearance and a towering, moussy white head. On the palate, the soft, doughy grain character is balanced by a very low hop bitterness, leading to a refreshing, effervescent finish. Its medium-light body and high carbonation provide a signature fluffy mouthfeel that defines this highly drinkable German wheat beer.
Appearance. Pours a hazy pale gold (3-5 SRM) with a thick, moussy, and exceptionally long-lasting white head that leaves persistent lacing.
Aroma. Moderate to high intensity featuring a classic balance of clove-like phenols and banana esters. Supported by a light to moderate bready, doughy wheat aroma and a touch of grainy-sweet Pilsner malt.
Taste. Initial impression is soft and bready. Prominent banana and clove flavors are well-integrated with a doughy wheat character and a subtle grainy-sweetness. Hop bitterness is very low, allowing for a well-rounded, flavorful palate and a relatively dry, refreshing finish.
