El Camino Amber reimagines the traditional Irish Red Ale with a modern, hazy twist. A foundation of toasted caramel malts and roasted barley provides a bready, biscuity core with a distinctive reddish hue. This malt richness is enlivened by a complex dry-hop addition of Nugget, Fuggles, and Citra, layering classic herbal and spicy pine notes with bright splashes of tropical pineapple and ripe orange. The addition of wheat and oats creates a smooth, creamy texture that carries juicy fruit esters before settling into a clean, slightly roasted dryness. It is a sessionable, full-bodied experience that balances heritage maltiness with contemporary hop vibrancy.
Appearance. Medium amber to medium reddish-copper color (10–14 SRM). Features a persistent, off-white to tan-colored head. Distincively hazy and cloudy, departing from the typical clarity of the style.
Aroma. Moderate intensity featuring a bready and lightly toasted malt character with hints of caramel. Strong hop-derived notes of spicy resin and earthy herbs are complemented by moderate tropical fruit aromas of orange and pineapple. Clean fermentation profile with very low esters.
Taste. Initial impression of soft toffee and biscuity malt sweetness. Mid-palate introduces herbal and resinous hop flavors followed by refreshing notes of ripe citrus.
