This Imperial Red IPA presents a sophisticated sensory fusion, layering the robust, toasty foundations of a Specialty IPA with distinctive botanical infusions. A base of deep caramel and toasted malts provides a sturdy platform for the aromatic complexity of black tea and blueberries. The hops contribute resinous and citrus notes that entwine with the earthy, floral qualities of the tea, while the blueberries offer a subtle, tart berry edge. This collaboration captures the intensity of an American IPA but with an enhanced malt structure and a structured, tannic finish derived from the tea, resulting in a balanced yet assertive profile.

Appearance. 14–22 SRM. Deep ruby-red to burnished copper with brilliant clarity, though a slight haze from the fruit and tea additions may be present. Persistent, light tan head with fine-textured foam and excellent lacing.

Aroma. High intensity. Prominent toasted malt profile featuring caramel, toffee, and light bready notes. Strong American hop character of pine, resin, and grapefruit. The black tea provides a distinctive earthy and floral top note, while the blueberries contribute subtle jammy and dark berry esters. Clean fermentation with minimal alcohol presence.

Taste. Initial malt sweetness of toasted bread and caramel is quickly overtaken by a high hop bitterness. Hop flavors favor resinous pine and citrus zest. The black tea adds a sophisticated earthy layer and structural tannins to the mid-palate, while blueberries provide a faint, tart fruitiness. The finish is decidedly dry and lingering, with a clean bitterness and a faint herbal tea aftertaste that avoids harshness.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture. Moderate carbonation. A light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present. A touch of tea-derived tannin provides a pleasant, drying astringency on the tongue that enhances the beer's drinkability.

Sensory Profile.
