EBBS Brewing Co. Wheat No. 1 captures the quintessential essence of a classic Weissbier, delivering an exceptionally refreshing experience at a sessionable 4.3% ABV. This iteration leads with a vibrant fermentation profile, where the hallmark aromas of ripe banana and spicy clove harmonize over a soft, bready foundation of malted wheat and Pilsner malt. Its pale gold, hazy appearance is topped by a voluminous white head, inviting a sip that is both creamy and effervescent. With a dry finish and very low bitterness, this beer highlights the delicate balance of yeast-driven phenols and esters, embodying the spirit of a traditional Bavarian Hefeweizen.
Appearance. Pale straw to deep gold (3–5 SRM). Opaque to very hazy with a luminous quality from suspended yeast and wheat proteins. Features a massive, mousse-like, long-lasting white head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. Moderate to high intensity. Dominant aromas of ripe banana and spicy clove are well-balanced. Supporting notes of bready, doughy, and grainy wheat malt. Very low floral or spicy hop character may be present.
Taste. Initial impression of soft, grainy-sweet wheat followed immediately by a classic interplay of banana esters and phenolic clove. The bitterness is very low, allowing the malt and yeast character to lead. The finish is relatively dry and clean, with a lingering bready aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a characteristic fluffy, creamy texture. High carbonation provides a spritzy, effervescent, and highly refreshing sensation. No alcohol warmth or astringency.
