Status Symbol presents as a massive American Stout, transformed into a decadent sensory experience with the addition of vanilla and banana. The appearance is a deep, opaque jet black, topped with a persistent light brown head. Aromas of intense roasted coffee and dark chocolate are elevated by the rich, sweet presence of caramelized bananas and aromatic vanilla bean. On the palate, a medium-full, creamy body delivers layers of bittersweet cocoa and espresso, balanced by a lush, fruit-driven sweetness and significant alcohol warmth from its 11% ABV. Aggressive hop bitterness and roasted char provide a clean, slightly resinous counterpoint to the jammy, banana-infused finish.
Appearance. Jet black (40+ SRM) and completely opaque; features a large, persistent head ranging from light tan to light brown with dense lacing.
Aroma. High intensity roast-forward aroma of dark chocolate and espresso. Pronounced notes of caramelized banana and creamy vanilla bean integrate with a medium esters profile and a subtle, resinous hop character. Smooth, clean alcohol presence is noticeable.
Taste. Very high roasted flavors of bittersweet chocolate and roasted coffee beans. Initial sweetness from caramelized bananas and vanilla is followed by a medium-high bitterness and citrusy hop flavors. Finishes medium-dry with a lingering burnt-grain complexity and smooth, warming alcohol.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full to full body with a creamy, velvety texture enhanced by fruit solids. Carbonation is medium-high. Provides a moderately strong, smooth alcohol warmth without being hot or fusel.
