Eastside Brewing Black Mamba Barrel Aged
Imperial Stout 13 º
This barrel-aged Imperial Stout offers an immense sensory experience, defined by two years in bourbon casks and a generous addition of Madagascar vanilla. The nose is greeted by an intense bouquet of espresso and black licorice, layered with the aroma of red fruits macerated in spirit. Its texture is famously viscous, pouring like motor oil and delivering a full, chewy mouthfeel. On the palate, deep roasted coffee and bittersweet chocolate flavors are softened by the floral sweetness of Madagascar vanilla. The 13% alcohol is well-integrated, providing a smooth, lingering warmth alongside complex notes of charred oak and premium bourbon.
Appearance. Jet black and completely opaque (40+ SRM). It pours with a thick, dense, dark tan head that shows moderate retention. Visible legs and high viscosity are apparent on the glass after swirling.
Aroma. High intensity aroma featuring a complex blend of roasted coffee, dark chocolate, and black licorice. The bourbon barrel aging contributes strong notes of oak, vanilla, and a vinous quality reminiscent of red fruits in spirit. Madagascar vanilla adds a sweet, floral top note.
Taste. Intensely flavorful with an initial impression of dark roasted grain and espresso. Strong bourbon character follows, bringing flavors of oak and spirit-soaked plums. Madagascar vanilla provides a creamy sweetness that balances the firm bitterness. The finish is long and warming with a complex aftertaste of licorice and cocoa.
Mouthfeel. Full to very full-bodied with a luxurious, motor oil viscosity and velvety, chewy texture. Noticeable but smooth alcohol warmth from the 13% ABV. Carbonation is low to moderate with no astringency.

Al palato il corpo è pieno, la consistenza oleosa. Il gusto è dominato dal Bourbon e dalla nota tannica donata dal passaggio in botte durato oltre 2 anni. Ben presenti cioccolata amara, liquirizia e vaniglia. Il tenore alcolico è avvertibile senza mai infastidire. L’amaro bilanciato e la carbonazione risulta bassa amplificando il corpo.
Consigliamo di abbinare la Black Mamba con una torte a base di cioccolato amaro o una a base di caffè."
