East London Brewing Company Pale Ale

This sessionable Ordinary Bitter offers a refined sensory experience, led by its approachable 4% ABV. The malt backbone presents a clean, biscuity foundation that allows the specialized hop profile to shine. Distinctive notes of spice and dark fruit from the Brewer's Gold hops are elegantly balanced by the perfumed, floral, and subtly lemony character of Styrian Goldings (Bobek). It drinks with a refreshing lightness, emphasizing a balanced but firm bitterness that invites another sip. The overall impression is one of classic English craftsmanship, delivering a nuanced bouquet and a crisp, dry finish quintessential to the style.
Appearance. Pale amber to light copper color with brilliant clarity. Features a low to moderate off-white head with fair retention and light lacing.
Aroma. Moderate malt intensity featuring aromas of fresh bread and toasted biscuit. The hop character is notably perfumed and floral, displaying herbal notes alongside a faint hint of spice and dark berry. Low fruity esters, with no diacetyl present.
Taste. Initial bready and lightly toasty malt flavors lead into a medium bitterness. Hop flavors of spice and wildflower from the Styrian Goldings and Brewer's Gold persist into the mid-palate. The fermentation character is clean with very low fruity esters. It concludes with a dry, crisp finish and a lingering, pleasant herbal aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Light to medium-light body with moderate carbonation. Smooth and highly drinkable with no perceptible alcohol warmth and a clean, non-astringent mouthfeel.
