A collaborative effort between E9 Brewing Co. and Upright Brewing, Snakehips is a quintessential Irish Stout that captures the essence of a traditional dry black ale. At a sessionable 4.2% ABV, it presents a stark roasted profile dominated by intense coffee-like notes and hints of unsweetened cocoa. The beer emphasizes a crisp, clean finish, reflecting the dry intent mentioned by the brewers. Expect a balance that leans toward firm bitterness from the roasted grains, providing a refreshing snap. Appearance. Jet black to deep ruby in color (35-40 SRM). Features a thick, long-lasting, tan-colored head with moderate lacing. The body is opaque.
Aroma. Moderate coffee-like intensity dominates the nose, complemented by secondary notes of dark chocolate and roasted grain. Low earthy hop aroma and very faint fruity esters are present.
