Dutch Bargain WhiteWash
Dutch Bargain’s WhiteWash is a refreshing Specialty IPA that marries the spicy, wheaty foundations of a Belgian Witbier with the vibrant hop profile of a New World IPA. An inviting haze and high carbonation set the stage for an aromatic burst of citrus zest, tropical fruit, and cracked coriander. On the palate, a crisp bready wheat base supports punchy notes of grapefruit and orange peel, balanced by a moderate, clean bitterness. Its lean body and dry, effervescent finish make it exceptionally approachable, capturing the breezy essence of the North Sea coast in a bright, sunshine-ready pint.
Appearance. Pale straw to deep gold (3–6 SRM). Persistent, voluminous white head with dense lacing. Characteristic hazy to cloudy appearance due to wheat proteins and yeast in suspension.
Aroma. High intensity, featuring prominent citrus and tropical hop notes like grapefruit and mango. These are complemented by Belgian yeast-derived esters of orange and lemon, along with light spicy phenols resembling clove or coriander. Low, bready-sweet wheat malt sits in the background.
Taste. Initial citrus-forward hop punch follows into a grainy, bready wheat malt flavor. Mid-palate reveals spicy yeast character and floral notes. Bitterness is moderate to firm but stays smooth, never harsh. Finishes dry and refreshing with a lingering citrus peel aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a light creaminess from the wheat content. High carbonation provides a crisp, effervescent scrub on the tongue. Low alcohol warmth. No astringency.
