Dutch Bargain Turtle Roll is a robust American IPA that showcases a vivid New Zealand hop profile. Dominated by Superdelic hops, the sensory experience leads with unique notes of ripe strawberry, sweet melon, and a distinctive cotton candy softness. Complementary layers of Riwaka and Nelson Sauvin contribute tropical complexity and a hint of crushed white grape. Despite the high 8.7% ABV, the malt remains a clean, grainy backdrop, allowing the intense hop character to remain the focus. This double-strength interpretation offers a juicy, fruit-forward profile that finishes with the firm, clean bitterness expected of the style.
Appearance. Medium gold to light amber with a slight, modern haze. Features a persistent, off-white head with excellent lacing and a fine-beaded structure.
Aroma. Intense hop aroma characterized by strawberry, honeydew melon, and tropical passionfruit. Nelson Sauvin adds a distinct crushed white grape note, while Riwaka provides a citrusy zing. Low, clean, grainy malt supports the fruit-forward profile without interference.
Taste. High hop flavor mirroring the aroma with layers of melon, berry, and tropical fruit. The Superdelic hops provide a candy-like fruitiness that is balanced by a medium-high bitterness. The finish is medium-dry with a lingering hoppy aftertaste and a clean, supportive malt foundation.
